Fermanagh swimmers Darragh Collins, Ryan Mongan, Anton Neal, Conal Walker, and their teammates at the Enniskillen Lakelanders club have made a splash at the Swim Ireland Irish Youth and Senior Summer National Championships in Dublin. These swimmers have not only qualified for the prestigious event but have also achieved personal bests and strong performances, showcasing their dedication and hard work. Collins, in particular, stood out with multiple personal bests, a national final appearance, and improved rankings. Mongan and Neal also impressed with new personal bests, and the team's relay performance was a highlight. The club's pride in their swimmers' achievements is evident, especially considering the challenges of training at a different location due to the demolition of their original facility. The story doesn't end there, though. Three swimmers from the Lurgan Swim Club, representing Enniskillen, also excelled, with Jamie Lannon, Ellie Dunlop, and Luke Lannon achieving remarkable results. Lannon qualified for multiple events and reached senior finals, while Dunlop and Lannon Jr. delivered impressive performances in the breaststroke events. The dedication of these swimmers is remarkable, as they make a two-hour round trip to train with the Lurgan Swim Club six days a week, despite Enniskillen's new leisure center being under construction. This commitment has paid off, as their outstanding performances at Ireland's premier domestic swimming competition demonstrate. The achievements of these swimmers are a testament to the power of perseverance and the rewards of hard work, leaving a lasting impression on the swimming community and inspiring future generations of swimmers.
